Attendance | Simply Modest Fashion Show by Little Big Event Planners

Asalaamulaikum Everyone! I attended the much anticipated Simply Modest Fashion show, hosted by Little Big Event Planners on the saturday the 27th September.

Hosted by little Big event planners who as they explain are a full service event planning company that provides complete planning consulting and supervision for events. Little Big Event Planners provide it's clients with layout, cooking, baking and with the ultimate goal of making your design specific event an elegant, unique and memorable experience.

Little Big Event planners started with a idea between two friends, who shared the same passion for giving people what they want and more in the best way possible. This dream came about they say, while sitting and chatting about what they could do other than lounge around. They set themselves goals, started a facebook page and then came the planning if their first event which was riddled with many hiccups which they attribute to making it all worth while. What we saw was a fabulous fashion show which showcased many designers that I have not event heard of. I think it's wonderful that these type of shows are there to showcase all our local talent.

The event hosted 150 women and was held at the Protea Hotel Breakwaters Lodge. Among the line up was Europa Design Emporium, Fabulous in Hijab, Buttons and Bows, Hijab Brides SA, Miss H, Designs by Sania, Wimsy, Safiyah Scarf styling and some pretty amazing Belly Dancing for entertainment.

Since they were catering for a Muslim market for this particular event,  I was impressed that they kicked off the show with a small dua, and had salah facilities available.

Here are some of my favourite garments from the show.

After attending their first event,  to me it seems that the two friends managed to come up with something that would be positively constructive, rewarding and relationship building at the same time. I wish them great success in all future endeavours and may we all continue to support our local entrepreneurs.

Their next event held in conjunction with Sisters in Hijab will be a fundraising benefit for Palestine. Details and on flyer below.  I hope to see you all there!

Until next time loves!

  2. Sometimes a bride like me prefer a simple event planner and simple arrangements for the wedding. I think different people have different preferences, like few want to spend limited amount on wedding planning or few are really simple by nature so wants to make it simple!
