Attendance | Spree LookBoard SS2014

Peace be upon all you lovelies!

Last week I attended the Spree Spring/Summer Look Board 2014. It was held at the Brundyn+ Gallery in Cape town. An event filled to capacity with all the who's who of fashion in attendance. Including fashion designers, Marianne Fassler, Malcolm KLûK, Christiaan Gabriël du Toit, Gert-Johan Coetzee and Thula Sindi whose items can be found on Spree's online boutique., which was also launched at the event.

It was not your typical run of the mill fashion show but rather a Lookboard styled event. The decision to run it as a Lookboard event was based on Chris Viljoen, Spree's Fashion Editors's vision of the offering people a look at spree's perspective for summer 2014 which he says, coincides nicely with Spree's belief in offering a carefully curated selection.

Models were posed on raised plinths against a backdrop of illuminated flowers and the attendees gathered around in groups to view the items and to take photos.

SS Trend for 2014 by Chris Viljoen

Florals.
Art Inspired Prints.
The Tropical Holiday. Jungle motifs, large leaves and anything Tropicana serves as a retro look, with an emphasis on the colour green.
The ‘ugly’ shoe. For the first time comfortable shoe trends are all rage. Stilettos have been
replaced by sliders this season.
Matchy matchy. Match your tops to your bottoms this season to amplify your separates.

These trends can clearly be seen in the selection chosen for the event.

My favourite from the designers section by Clive Rundle.
My favourite look from the Spree Boutique. The collard shirt by Ruff Tung and floral stretch pants by Ilan.
Great jewellery and I especially love all the Madison shoes  on display.

Blonde beauties!Chantelle (Channi Chic blog) and Anja (Glitz and Grammer)
Apart from my absolute pre party anxiety due to the fact that I got lost in town for an hour and therefore arrived late, it was a great night out with some very fashionable people and some great blogger friends! In retrospect, I'm really  happy I decided to wear heels!
